Terms of Service
Plain terms for a browser tool. Use it freely, keep your own copies, do not share what is not yours to share.
1. Who you are dealing with
YoRecord (yorecord.com) is made and run by Jan Drábek, a sole trader established in the Czech Republic. "We" and "us" below mean that operator; "you" means the person using the site. Contact: [email protected].
By using YoRecord you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data and is part of these terms.
2. What YoRecord is
YoRecord is a screen recorder that runs in your web browser. It records your screen, webcam and microphone, lets you edit the result, renders an MP4, and can publish that MP4 at a share link. You can also import a video you recorded elsewhere; the same length limits apply. There is no account and nothing to install. Recording works in desktop Chrome and Edge; Firefox mostly works and export there is less reliable. It does not work in Safari or on phones and tablets, and we do not promise it will.
3. Free and Pro
The free tier costs nothing, needs no card, and is not a trial. It includes:
- recordings of up to 10 minutes each, with no limit from us on how many;
- the editor and AI subtitles;
- MP4 export at up to 720p (1280 px wide) with a small "yorecord.com" mark in the corner;
- share links that stay online for at least 31 days.
Pro is a paid subscription. Compared with the free tier it:
- removes the watermark from exports;
- lets you put your own logo or text where the watermark was;
- exports at up to 1440p (2560 px wide) where your display and recording length allow, never upscaled;
- raises the recording limit to 20 minutes;
- keeps your share links online for as long as your subscription is paid, up to a per-customer limit.
Current prices, the limit on renewed links and the exact conditions for each feature are on the pricing page. If this page and that one disagree, the pricing page wins. Founding-price subscribers keep that price for as long as their subscription stays continuously active. We may change the free tier's limits and Pro's features over time; a change that removes something you paid for takes effect for you at the end of your current billing period.
4. Paying for Pro
Pro is sold through Polar, which is the merchant of record: Polar takes your payment, issues the invoice, handles taxes and processes refunds under its own terms. After payment Polar emails you a licence key. You paste the key into YoRecord in each browser you want to use Pro in; it is stored in that browser.
- The key is personal to you. You may use it on your own devices. Do not publish it or hand it to other people; we may revoke a key that is being shared.
- You can cancel at any time from the receipt Polar emailed you. Cancelling stops future charges; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. There is no account to close.
- Refunds: ask us at [email protected] or through Polar. We are not unreasonable about it.
- Pro features are applied in your browser from the key you pasted. YoRecord does not phone home to re-check it, so it keeps working offline. Share-link renewal is the one Pro feature that is checked against your subscription, about once a week.
5. Your recordings are yours
You own what you record. We claim no rights in your recordings, transcripts or exports. When you create a share link you give us permission to store that one video and serve it to anyone who opens the link. That permission lasts as long as the link exists and ends when the video is deleted or revoked.
You are responsible for what you record and share. In particular, only share a recording if you have the right to: do not publish other people's private information, other people's copyrighted work without permission, or anything unlawful where you or your viewers are.
6. Share links are not storage
A share link is a way to show someone a video, not a place to keep it. Keep your own copy.
- Free share links are deleted automatically after 31 days. Pro links are renewed while your subscription is paid, then follow the same schedule.
- A share can hold a rendered video of up to 100 MiB. Larger videos must be downloaded instead.
- Anyone with the link can watch. Links are hard to guess, not private. See the Privacy Policy.
- You can revoke a link from the device that created it. We can remove a link if you email it to us.
- We may remove a shared video without notice if it breaks section 5, if we receive a valid legal request, or to protect the service. Where practical we will tell you at the address you wrote from.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use YoRecord to record or publish content that is illegal, harassing, or exposes someone's private data without their consent;
- upload files that are not videos you made with the intent of sharing them, or use the storage as a file host;
- probe, overload or interfere with the site, the AI endpoints, the upload service or other users' links;
- resell YoRecord or present it as your own service.
If you break these rules we may block your uploads or revoke your licence key. If you see a shared video that breaks them, email us the link.
8. AI features
Subtitles, chapters, titles and editing suggestions are produced by machine learning models run by third parties (see the Privacy Policy). They are often wrong in small ways and sometimes in large ones. Check them before you rely on them. We may change or remove AI features, or the providers behind them, at any time.
9. The agent tool
YoRecord for AI agents lets a coding agent record a browser walkthrough and publish it. It is offered on the same terms, with these differences: an upload needs a token that you approve at /approve; videos are public to anyone with the link and are deleted after 7 days; there are daily and per-file limits, shown on that page; and you are responsible for what an agent acting under your token publishes. You can stop the tool at any time by deleting the token it saved on your computer; email us to have the token itself blocked. We may suspend a token that is abused or that the quotas cannot contain.
10. No warranty
YoRecord is provided as it is, free of charge for the free tier and at a small price for Pro. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not promise that it will be available, error free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Browsers change, and a browser update can break recording before we have a fix. Recordings live in your browser's storage, which the browser itself may clear; we cannot recover a recording that was never downloaded.
11. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses: lost data, lost profits or lost business. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before it. If you paid nothing, the cap is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that the law says cannot be limited, such as for death, personal injury or fraud.
12. Ending things
You can stop using YoRecord at any time; there is no account to close. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes everything stored there. We may stop offering the service or any part of it; if we do, Pro subscribers will not be charged again and will be told how to get the remaining period refunded.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. A change that matters to Pro subscribers will also be announced in the changelog. Continuing to use YoRecord after a change means you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Nothing in them takes away consumer protections you have where you live.
